Abstract:
The research study was designed to investigate the religious literacy of high school graduates in Greece. The content of the concept of religious literacy in the research was based on the definitions of Prothero (2007) and Moore (2015) as well as the role that religious education holds to the religion knowledge provided to students during the ten-year school studies (Elementary school 4 yrs, High School 3yrs, Lyceum 3yrs) regarding the subject of Religion. the sample of the research consisted Lyceum graduates. Overall, as evidenced by their responses of the majority of the sample, the Christian values they had received during their schooling have influenced them and became a source of inspiration in terms of behavior, attitudes, perceptions, worldviews and philosophical approach to life.
