The Greek Journal of Religious Education (GjRE) is an international peer-reviewed journal published by the KAIROS-Greek Theological Association for the improvement of the Religious Education. It publishes articles in Greek and English on Religious Education, Pedagogy and Theology.

In an era when an increasingly widespread discussion about the future of Religious Education takes place we are launching a new journal with international scientific standards.

Our journal, ΕλΘΕ/GjRE, will be issued in two languages, Greek and English and will have free access online. Peer reviewed articles and useful educational material will be published.

The framework for RE in Greek schools

According to the article 16 of the Greek Constitution (1975), a central aim of public education is “to develop the religious consciousness of the pupils”.

Article 3 of the Constitution states that the prevailing religion in Greece is the Eastern Orthodox Church of Christ.
